Lumi (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we handle and how.

Summary

• We do not require an account and we do not ask for your name, email, or contact info.
• Your scan history and photos are stored locally on your device.
• When you choose to analyze a selfie, that photo is sent securely to our AI provider, OpenAI, to generate your cosmetic results. We do not store it on our servers, and OpenAI does not use it to train its models.
• We do not sell your data and we do not use your photos to train AI models.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.

Face data

The photo you choose to analyze is a picture of your face. We use it only to generate your cosmetic skin results — an overall score, a breakdown of visible skin traits, and a personalized routine.

• We do not create a faceprint, face template, or any biometric identifier, and we do not use facial recognition or attempt to identify you. Lumi cannot recognize who you are from the photo.
• The photo is not used for advertising, tracking, or profiling, and is never used to train AI models or sold.
• When you tap “Analyze,” the photo is sent over an encrypted (TLS) connection to our backend, which forwards it to OpenAI solely to produce your result. We do not store the photo on our servers.
• Retention: your photo is stored only locally on your device until you delete the scan or the app. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models; under OpenAI’s API data-usage policy, any transient copy is retained at most 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted.
• Third-party protection: OpenAI processes the image under its API data-usage and security commitments, which provide protections equivalent to those described in this policy (encryption in transit, no training on API inputs, limited abuse-only retention). See OpenAI’s API data-usage policy.
• We request your explicit permission in the app before the photo is sent.

Information we process

Photos you submit for analysis. When you tap “Analyze my skin,” the selected photo is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our backend, which forwards it to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to produce your skin analysis. The image is processed to generate your results and is not retained for training or advertising. We do not store your photos on our servers.

Scan results & history. Your scores, breakdowns, routines, and any saved photos are stored locally on your device only. Deleting a scan or the app removes them.

Purchase status. Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We receive only the entitlement status needed to unlock features through Apple’s StoreKit. We do not receive your payment details.
